The applicant requested access to correspondence exchanged between the Tribunal and Departmental Secretaries relating to proposed amendments to section 25 of the Remuneration Tribunal (Departmental Secretaries – Classification Structure and Terms and Conditions) Determination (No. 2) 2023

The applicant requested a copy of all written submissions sent to the Tribunal in relation to the Tribunal’s 2023 Members of Parliament salary determinations, since 1 January 2023, related to the value or scope of Member’s allowances and base salary.

The applicant requested correspondence/documentation relating to Dr Peta Seaton’s appointment to the National Disability Insurance Agency Board.

The applicant requested documents dated between 1 January 2015 and 31 December 2019 relating to remuneration for the Executive members of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee.

The applicant requested all documents dated between 1 January 2006 and 31 August 2006 relating to remuneration for the managing director of Tourism Australia including but not limited to documents relating to a payment at the termination of employment.

The applicant requested documents written by Members of Parliament or Ministers of the Crown in the period from 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017 seeking higher remuneration for offices and individual office holders based at least in part on private sector remuneration.

The applicant sought the submissions as listed in the Tribunals Interim October statement on the Judicial and Related Offices review.

The applicant sought copies of any queries, emails and so on from politicians and any correspondence from politicians to the Tribunal from October 2013 to 11 June 2015.

The applicant sought copies of any queries, letters, emails and so on from politicians and any responses or correspondence from the Tribunal to politicians from 1 October 2011 to 1 October 2013.

The applicant sought documents that contained the following information: submissions or other correspondence, requests or reports pertaining to the 2013 Annual Review of Remuneration for Public Office Holders.

The applicant sought all documentation relating to the Tribunal's reviews of the offices of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, that were conducted in 2005 (with findings published in 2006) and again in 2011. The information required included, but was not limited to:

(1) The reviews conducted by the Tribunal and any parties commissioned by the Tribunal that include consideration of the current circumstances of each of the named agencies and background to remuneration arrangements.
(2) Any submissions made by the agencies or any other parties.
(3) Meeting notes or other documents relating to any interviews conducted with officeholders, Ministers or any other relevant parties.
(4) Any documentation for each review that pertained to compensation for loss of office.

Applicant requested:

(1) Documents relating to the Tribunal’s current review of parliamentary remuneration, including the “assessment of the work of federal parliamentary backbenchers” by a consultant referred to in the statement by the Tribunal issued on this matter on 20 September 2011. Also, any costs incurred by the Tribunal in payment for this assessment by a consultant.
(2) Documents relating to a future benchmark for parliamentary remuneration.
(3) Submissions by MPs to the Tribunal regarding these deliberations covering the period May 2011 to 11 October 2011.
(4) Letters and correspondence from the Special Minister of State (SMOS) to the Tribunal regarding these matters. Correspondence from the Tribunal to the SMOS with regards to these matters.

The applicant requested access to all submissions sent to the Remuneration Tribunal regarding the 2024 Review of Remuneration for Holders of Public Office.

The applicant sought documents containing information about: any analysis and/or review and/or report and/or advice produced in the last 2 years relating to forecast and/or possible trends in relation to increased expenditure on politician’s salaries and/or expenses and/or superannuation in the future including over the next 20 years.

The applicant sought the submissions to the Remuneration Tribunal’s 2016 decisions regarding federal parliamentary salaries and allowances.

The applicant requested submissions written by Members of Parliament or Ministers of the Crown seeking higher remuneration for offices and individual office holders based at least in part on private sector remuneration.

The applicant sought copies of any submissions made by Ms Helen Szuty, to the Remuneration Tribunal in respect to their 1993 review, which resulted in an article in the Canberra Times on Wednesday 6 October 1993.

The applicant requested documents dated between 1 January 1980 and 10 October 2019 relating to the costing of the daily travel allowance for Members of Parliament travelling within 30km of Parliament House, Canberra, documents relating to any adjustment and right to this allowance in relation to poverty, and documents relating to the adjustment and justification of this allowance in relation to social security payments such as Newstart.
